Marrakech

Begin your Morocco desert tour when you arrive at Marrakech Airport and are met by your Berber Treasures Morocco Tours driver the scheduled group transfer time. Your Morocco discovery gets underway with an afternoon half-day city tour of Marrakech, the Jewel of the South. Together with your expert local Marrakech travel guide your heritage tour of Marrakech explores this imperial city’s stunning past and allows you to soak up the sights, sounds and smells of this captivating city as you visit Marrakech highlights La Bahia Palace, Koutoubia Mosque and Djemaa El-Fna Square. Complete your magical Marrakech experience staying in one on the wonderfully atmospheric Marrakech riads. Overnight in Marrakech riad.

Marrakech – Tizi n’Tichka (High Atlas Mountains) – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate

Today your Morocco desert tour takes you from Marrakech across the soaring High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka High Atlas Mountain pass (2260 m). Descending the southeastern face of the Mountains you head to the first desert destination, the UNESCO UNESCO World Heritage ksar village of Ait Ben Haddou. The historic desert village with its amazing earthen kasbahs is a must on all Morocco desert tours. Next your travel to Ouarzazate, a nearby desert oasis town recognised for its strategic importance since the days of the camel caravans and now the movie making capitol of Morocco. Overnight in Ouarzazate kasbah. (Breakfast)

Ouarzazate – Roses Valley – Todra Gorge – Erfoud – Erg Chebbi Desert Camp

Discovering more of the Morocco desert your route takes you through the Roses Valley, which celebrates its rose harvest with an annual May Festival of Roses, as you travel to Todra Gorge. This beautiful gorge is carved out of the High Atlas Mountains where desert and mountains meet. Continue further east to Erfoud, the centre of one of the richest and most extensive fossil fields in the world, where your route takes you toward the spectacular Sahara Desert’s Erg Chebbi sand dunes. Take a 4-wheel drive vehicle through the lower Erg Chebbi sand dunes to your desert camp in the peacefully secluded eastern section of the Erg Chebbi sand dunes. Here, you create an unforgettable memory of your Morocco desert tour as you take a sunset desert camel ride in the sand dunes led by your local Berber camel guide (or to relax at your camp). Blending Berber authenticity with modern comfort, experience the warm hospitality of Morocco’s desert Berber culture spending a magical night under the stars in the heart of the Sahara in authentic comfort: Berber tents equipped with real beds and private ensuite bathrooms. Merzouga – Erfoud – Dades Gorge (High Atlas Mountains)

Early risers can witness the sunrise over the magnificent desert landscape. Continuing your exploration of the Moroccan desert you visit village areas on the fringes of the Erg Chebbi sand dunes including, the village of Khamlea, famous for its Gnaoua singers, and the desert Berber village and oasis of Merzouga. The Berber of this region, the “blue men” were traditionally nomads and famous for their striking, flowing indigo blue robes and turbans. In Merzouga village you may be able to share a cup of refreshing mint tea with a local Berber family. Returning westward you make your way via the High Atlas Berber town of Boumalne Dades as you travel to Dades Gorge. This stunning gorge is populated with its Berber kasbahs, fig orchards and unique rock formations. Overnight in Dades Gorge area. (Breakfast)

Dades Gorge – Marrakech

Leaving Dades Gorge your Morocco tour returns via the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs and you say farewell to the amazing Morocco desert kasbah area your Morocco desert holidays and return you to Marrakech. Overnight Marrakech riad. (Breakfast)

Marrakech

Morning complimentary scheduled group transfer to Marrakech Airport where your Morocco desert tour ends. (Breakfast)
