Today your discovery focuses on the desert culture of Morocco’s Erg Chebbi area. The day starts with a tour of Merzouga oasis area. This is the home territory of the “Blue Men”, desert Berber known for their striking indigo blue gandoras and turbans. In Merzouga village you can share a cup of refreshing mint tea with a local Berber family and then visit the Moroccan village of Khamlea, famous for its spiritual Gnaoua singers. There is some afternoon time for relaxation or self exploration before you take a 4-wheel drive vehicle through the lower Erg Chebbi sand dunes to your desert camp in the peacefully secluded eastern section of the Erg Chebbi sand dunes. Here, you can imagine the past days of the Berber camel caravans, joining your sunset desert camel ride led by your local Berber camel guide (or to relax at your camp).
